2 Thoughts - The Hardest Seat to Fill & Simple Tools
Powerhouse Event Takeaways!
Me and my yellow shoes had the opportunity to attend the Vistage Philadelphia Summit this week. Vistage serves over 45,000 CEOs and C-Suite professionals across the globe, so when they put out information, you listen.
Here’s what I heard…
#1: Getting Max ROI Out Of Your Team
Filling critical team spots - especially sales - is top of mind for many of the CEOs I met. (Isn't it always?) What was new though was the response to the current economic market is pushing business owners to increase liquidity and decrease spending.
This in turn is causing them to take a hard look at their operational side and make sure they have the right people to protect the bottom line. Employees can account for up to 70% of expenses and getting the most ROI from that cost was definitely a concern.
(Obviously I got excited about this because this is what Culture Index does!!)
#2: Simple Tools Are Best
Talking to the business leaders and other vendors made one thing abundantly clear - busy leaders want simple tools for their organizations. While THEY can understand complex problems and solutions, it’s very hard to roll out complicated programs across an organization. It’s even harder to get them to stick. Simple, targeted tools with great upfront and ongoing training plans actually stand a chance of getting used.
It's better to pick one tool to roll out with an entire 12 month plan than 4 tools over the course of the year with only 90 day implementation periods. These tend to end up in the “broken and discarded toys” corner.
