2 Thoughts - Structure & Scale
#1: Structure
You don’t have a people problem. You have a structure problem.
One of the hardest truths for growth-stage CEOs to accept is that their biggest job isn’t jumping in to fix problems—it’s structuring the org so problems fix themselves.
It's systematically, one at a time, ruthlessly, relentlessly filling the leadership roles with "10 out of 10" people. Then spending the time with them to define their responsibilities, how you are going to measure success, and the freedom they have to craft their team to get there.
It's removing the toxic leaders so that the great leaders have oxygen to breathe and your attention to grow.
It can feel great to get down in the weeds and solve the operational problems, but the true key to growth is making your #1 priority every week persistently, intentionally, filling your leadership team with the right people and then supporting the crap out of them.
#2: One Question to Ask Yourself
If you could only hire one game-changing leader in the next 90 days, who would it be?
