2 Thoughts: People & Performance

#1: Happiness

A great leader proactively builds their team's cohesiveness. They critically evaluate current team interactions and anticipate how the team will evolve in the next three years if no course corrections are made. They identify the biggest pain point and tackle it head-on, immediately.

Many leaders focus only on short-term results and constantly feel behind. They either feel helpless to change the current trajectory or burden themselves with too much daily execution, believing there's no time to step back. This is a false narrative. Your #1 job is to build an exceptional team.

To be a great leader, prioritize team health over daily tasks.  Invest in people growth, and make the hard decision to remove people obstacles. Focus on your own development as a leader.  No one else can shoulder that load, but many can handle the other work you're doing.

#2: One Question to Ask Yourself

Rate your leadership team on a scale of 1 to 10.  What would need to happen in order to get that rating up 1 point?
