2 Thoughts - Meetings & Communication
#1: Meetings
People will pay thousands of dollars to have facilitators lead their important meetings. And it is absolutely worth it at the highest level. Why? Because there is an art to making meetings work, and not everyone is capable of it. If you want to get more from your team in 2024, consider investing time in training them how to run better meetings. Here are 3 key areas to focus on:
Preparation: Agenda, necessary documents and numbers, keep attendance to minimum people necessary.
Facilitation: Start by asking each person what they need to get out of the call for it to be successful. Create space for each person to talk during the meeting.
Follow up process: Send out written meeting summary, track the Action Items, put due dates on them and then make sure they got done. Technology can absolutely change the game here. You can bring AI into virtual meetings, ask it to summarize To Do items by person, and schedule send follow up emails the day of the deadline to have people report in.
Want to take it to the next level? Add meeting performance as a metric to regular reviews.
#2: One Question to Ask Your Team
At the end of a meeting: How would you rate this meeting on a scale of 1 to 10?
