2 Thoughts - Gratitude & Giving

#1: Gratitude For Better People

I spend a lot of time consulting on right people, right seat, right leader.  Growth happens when you as a leader trust people to be better and more passionate than you.

In 2020, a friend asked how he could help build our community more.  I said, "We have this crazy huge idea to start a charitable foundation. It would provide hands-on opportunities for our people to impact the world together."  He said yes.

He did all the official organization and asked 7 people to join the inaugural board.  The 7 Figure Foundation launched 6 months later, and with their hard work, we've built houses and rescued Ukrainian refugees and provided food and shelter to our neighbors.  Then we realized we had come to the end of our skillset and needed help to grow more.  The board sought out an experienced Executive Director and thankfully she also said yes.

Within 2.5 years we have raised $620,000+ and had over 100 volunteers join our impact trips - kids and all.  If I had tried to do this all myself it would not have come to fruition.

Growth happens when you bring in the right people and trust them to do their job.

#2: Two Questions to Ask Yourself

When have I hired someone who has outperformed my expectations and how did I inspire them as a leader?  Can I do it again?
