The Tortoise and The Hare

Inside Culture Index, we joke about crushes - not romantic ones, but on "traits" we wish we had.  Right now mine is intense mental focus.  It's often mistaken for slow, but really it’s certainty.

Here's the contrast: I’m a human pinball at warp speed, while my husband is the tortoise who studies 10,000 YouTube videos before starting, and that difference seems to be our magic (and our frustration!)

#1: Opposites Annoy... And Balance.

Speed meets stamina. Big picture meets detail. Urgency meets patience.  The clash can drive you nuts, but it’s also what keeps the work moving and done right.

#2: Balance or Bust

When everyone is wired the same way the gaps show up fast, usually as “culture problems.”  If you want to hit the trifecta of growth, profits, and building a place people actually want to work, find your gaps.
