2 Thoughts - 10,000 Hours & Small Tweaks

#1: 10,000 Hours

We've all head the phrase "Practice makes perfect", but the better version is "Perfect practice makes perfect."

At our CrossFit gym, the best athletes spend time perfecting the smallest parts of their movements so that they can continue to get  better every year - their grip, their foot placement, their posture.  Hours upon hours of reflecting and tweaking the small things so they can do more big things.

The same is true in leadership.  Great leaders are made, not born, through daily effort improving the small things.

As Malcolm Gladwell said, “It takes ten thousand hours to truly master anything. Time spent leads to experience; experience leads to proficiency; and the more proficient you are the more valuable you’ll be.”

#2: One Question to Ask Yourself

What leadership moment did I have this past week that I can tweak and do better next time around?
