2 Thoughts - Away & Aligned
#1: Take A Break
Life’s been lifey.
In just 48 hours, my family lost three people we love. Add in cancer treatments, a calendar full of end-of-year kid chaos, work pressures, and the ripple of economic instability… and I hit a wall.
So, I did something spontaneous.
I packed the car and took one of my daughters camping. One night. No agenda. Coffee by the lake. Silence. Space.
And I came back lighter. Not because anything changed, but because I did.
Here’s the truth: when you lead, the noise never stops. But you can.
Getting away - physically, mentally, emotionally - isn’t a luxury. It’s a leadership discipline. It gives you the margin to re-center, remember what matters, and come back with clarity.
*Coffee by a lake is always a good reset option. The one in my photo is Gifford Pinchot State Park. Highly recommend.
#2: One Question to Ask Yourself
When was the last time I stepped away long enough to hear my own thoughts clearly?
